What Is Sobur? Why should I use it?

Sobur is a natural hangover cure, that reverses the effects alcohol has on the brain and liver, ‘soburing’ you up and eliminating that groggy, duvet-diving feeling after a wild night on the town. Sobur practically eliminates all evidence of just how drunk you were, leaving you feeling fresh, energized and ready to tackle un-tagging all those Facebook photos from the night before with a smile.

How does it work exactly?

The herbal extract Dihydromyricetin (DHM) in Sobur is a potent anti-oxidant and lowers the amount of GABA in the brain, a neurotransmitter alcohol increases drastically.

GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter and causes communication between neurons to slow, decreasing cognition, fine motor skills, judgement, and inhibitions. Too much GABA can slow the brain down enough for a person to black out, or become unconscious. Dihydromyricetin reverses this to get the user back into fighting shape, even after the wildest benders.

N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) has been used in medical settings for decades to detoxify the liver, with Vitamin C being a successful companion to NAC in scavenging the nasty remnants of alcohol’s metabolites. Alcohol depletes many B vitamins, and large amounts are included to help recovery, and to fight fatigue and improve mental agility.

How quickly does Sobur take effect?

Sobur works relatively quickly to reverse the effects of alcohol, but alcohol is still present in your system, and despite feeling a lack of intoxication, we strongly advise you don’t drink and drive, operate heavy machinery, text your ex, or clear a space on the dance-floor and try to breakdance, however ‘in control’ you feel.

How long does Sobur last?

Alcohol tolerance varies wildly between exposure, weight, height, and even race, so it’s hard to predict accurately how long it takes to ‘sober’ an individual up, but taken before bed should produce a deep and refreshing sleep as it works over the course of several hours to detoxify the body and reverse the effects of alcohol on the body and brain.

When’s best to take it?

To prevent a hangover, take 1-2 capsules before bed with plenty of water. If you’re trying to sober up after a few drinks, perhaps for an afternoon meeting, or dinner with the parents in law, take one capsule on as empty a stomach as possible.

Does Sobur have any side effects?

Albeit rare, large doses of NAC can cause very mild flu-like symptoms in a small percentage of the population. The doses of NAC used in Sobur are conservative, but sensitivity to it can’t be determined over the internet.

Some users report feeling a great wash of mental clarity after taking it whilst intoxicated. This is normal, and senses are only heightened in comparison to those which were minutes before dulled by the booze.

How can I increase it’s effectiveness?

Taking Sobur on an empty stomach is best, but don’t sweat it if you can’t resist that late night kebab, it’ll just take a little longer to get into your system and start to work.

Are there any medical implications?

Used for thousands of years in Chinese medicine, and sold over the counter as a tea, food, or supplement in many countries, Dihydromyricetin (DHM) has not been studied for alcohol detoxification for very long. It has shown solid results in several clinical trials, and is suggested for use in treating alcoholism. The other ingredients have a long history of medical use in all manners of settings, from paracetamol overdose, to common colds, they enhance the immune system, fighting off toxins and improving liver health.

That said, Sobur contains powerful ingredients that alter neurotransmitter levels, so anyone with any neurological conditions should speak to their doctors before trying Sobur.

Are there any medications I should avoid whilst taking it?

Any GABA-centric medications (such as Benzos, phenibut, etc) should be avoided, but with a condition related to GABA production, drinking heavily may not be terribly wise. A full list of GABA agonist medications can be found here.

Will it show up on a drug test?

No, but if you drank recently, you will definitely test positive for alcohol. Sobur doesn’t get rid of the alcohol in your blood, but rather reverses the neurological symptoms of intoxication. Whilst you may feel, look, and act sober, there will still be alcohol in your blood soon after drinking.

How often can I take Sobur?

We do not recommend taking more than 3 caps of Sobur in any 24 hour period, you party animal.
Although natural, the ingredients are all powerful anti-oxidants and should only be taken when necessary.

Why is my pee fluorescent? (not a serious question, but worth reading :-D)

Sobur contains high doses of many B vitamins, which are water soluble, and excreted via urine when taken in excess.

Can I use Sobur to sober up enough to drive home?

Haven’t you been reading? No! You may feel sober, but attempting to drive while you have alcohol in your system is a criminal offense. Worse than that, you’re putting other people’s lives in danger. Get a cab, donkey!

Is Sobur addictive?

Neither physiologically or mentally.

Is Sobur suitable for vegetarians?

Yes. The capsules used are made using a plant-based gelatin substitute, and the ingredients are vegetarian friendly.
